Sleeping Giant Capital – a long term, place-based alternative to private equity – is proud to announce the appointment of Peter Anjorin as its newest CEO-in-Residence.

Anjorin is an engineer and MBA with more than 20 years of experience across manufacturing operations, commercial management, and strategy. He is seeking to acquire and lead a West Michigan manufacturing company for the long term.

“West Michigan is an attractive region with a strong industrial base. After spending most of my 20-year career with local manufacturing companies, I am excited to preserve and grow this foundation. Sleeping Giant Capital has a strong team with shared values, and its long-term approach aligns with my focus on investing in people, championing operational excellence, and driving growth and innovation,” said Anjorin.

Anjorin began his career as a manufacturing engineer at DENSO, where he focused on continuous improvement and plant performance. At Whirlpool, he took on broader responsibilities in product development and commercial operations. He brought together teams across engineering, manufacturing, marketing, and sales to develop new products and drive growth.

Most recently, Anjorin headed strategy at SpartanNash. He worked with senior executives on innovation, investment decisions, and the evaluation and execution of multiple acquisitions.

“Peter has built his career here in West Michigan. We are proud to partner with him in his next chapter as the owner and leader of a West Michigan business. He brings strong technical and business experience, close alignment with our values, and a real commitment to people and long-term growth,” said Doug Lepisto, co-founder and managing partner of Sleeping Giant Capital.

Peter holds an MBA from Western Michigan University and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Calvin University. He lives in Grand Rapids with his wife, Niecia, and their three children, Adela, James, and George. Outside of work, he enjoys playing sports and coaching youth soccer and basketball.
